Job description: Data Governance AnalystOur client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Data Governance Analyst to be based at their client’s office in Luton, UK.This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Luton office 1-2 days per week .This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asapDay rate: Competitive Market rateKey ResponsibilitiesData Governance Framework:

  • Establish a formal Data Governance framework for the Customer Domain project, outlining policies, procedures, and guidelines for effective data management.
  • Promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability throughout the organization.

Define Data Ownership:

  • Establish clear ownership of customer data, defining roles and responsibilities for those responsible for its accuracy, security, and maintenance.
  • Assign data stewards who are accountable for ensuring the quality and integrity of customer information.
  • Ownership boundaries around Data platform, CDP, CEP

Metadata Management:

  • Establish a comprehensive metadata management framework to capture information about customer data, such as its source, usage, and transformations.
  • Enhance data understanding and traceability through effective metadata documentation.

Data Quality Management:

  • Implement processes and standards to maintain high data quality for customer records.
  • Define and enforce data quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the accuracy and completeness of customer data.

Data Classification and Sensitivity: (Work along with DPO taking every attribute and validating against the Defined classifications )

  • Classify customer data based on sensitivity and importance, guiding appropriate handling and protection measures.
  • Define access controls to restrict unauthorized access to sensitive customer information.

Privacy and Compliance (Work along with DPO, if there is defined ones we could map the artefacts on to the Confluence):

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) in the handling and processing of customer data.
  • Implement policies and controls to protect sensitive customer information and enforce data privacy best practices.

Data Lifecycle Management:

  • Develop policies for the entire lifecycle of customer data, from its creation or acquisition to its archival or deletion.
  • Define data retention policies to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Degree / post graduate qualification in a numerical/analytical subject or equivalent business experience.
  • Proven experience of working in Data Privacy and Governance
  • Practical database skills with focus on data extraction and transformation into actionable insights.
  • A logical thinker with a good analytical background.
  • Used to working and delivering under pressure.
  • Motivated, results-focussed self-starter, comfortable in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Organised and comfortable with change.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, at all levels of the organisation, in oral and written forms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and consultative skills.
  • Willingness to learn and keep up to date on the latest developments in data analytics and visualization.
