Job Description
Contract type: Fixed-term for 12 months
Location: Beech Hill Road, Sheffield S10 2RX
We have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) as a data manager to support the collection of clinical trials and related data in our portfolio of infection and global health studies.
In this varied and dynamic role, you will be responsible for the collaborative design, set-up, configuration and administration of electronic data collection tools including REDCap and in the ongoing development of data and sample collection resources.
You will be as part of a dynamic team working closely with research teams led by Dr Ruth Payne and Dr Thomas Darton to incorporate the use of the REDCap system in established and new research projects. You will be the primary user expert and the point-of-contact for local researchers and end-users.
You should have a good honours degree in a related subject area or equivalent qualifications and/or experience. We are seeking candidates with good knowledge of shell scripting, some experience with a programming language such as Python and with the ability to perform system administration on Linux services and storage systems. It is essential that you are familiar with administering and troubleshooting databases, web services and applications. You must be a good communicator and willing to work as part of a dynamic and international team.
