Whatever the department, no two days are the same and the opportunities are as diverse as the members we serve.We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term Contract Data Protection Manager to join our Risk and Compliance department on a 12 month fixed term basis, this role is based in York with mixture of 3 days office, 2 day working from home. Salary at or around £50,000.Overview of the roleReporting to the Data Protection Officer, the post holder will:

  • Ensure the projects embed data protection by design and by default
  • Provide regulatory advice, support and challenge to the business on data protection legislation and cyber security matters
  • Monitor compliance with data protection laws and internal data protection policies
  • Advise on and assist with project data protection impact assessments
  • Produce data maps
  • Ensure effective compliance with the business’s Risk Management Framework

We’re keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • CIPM, CIPP/E, ISEB DP practitioner or EU GDPR F or P certification desirable
  • Expert in depth knowledge of data protection law including DPA 2018, GDPR and FCA data protection and information security expectations.
  • Strong demonstrable experience of working as a Data Protection Manager or senior data protection role in a FCA regulated financial services business.
  • Experience of completion of all data protection activities including expert advice, monitoring and oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and

leverage/negotiate resources across the group to achieve objectives.

  • Professional, self-motivated, approachable, collaborative and calm, able to prioritise and work on own or as part of a team to provide pragmatic advice and solutions to meet a range of stakeholder needs.
