Job description: Position: Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Band 9 – Temporary, 6 months)
Location: Harlow
Hours: Full-time (37.50 hours per week)Job Summary:
The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities plays a pivotal role in the strategic and operational management of the Trust’s Estates and Facilities functions. This involves ensuring the safety, efficiency, and adaptability of the built environment to support the delivery of high-quality health care in alignment with the Trust’s strategies and objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and alignment of estate strategy with clinical and corporate goals.
  • Oversight of capital project planning and delivery, including major projects.
  • Management of estates infrastructure, facilities, and commercial services.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance, risk management, and governance for the built environment.
  • Financial management and budget accountability for estates and facilities services.
  • Leadership of workforce management and professional development initiatives.
  • Stakeholder engagement with internal and external parties, including governmental bodies and community stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline, with post-graduate qualifications preferred.
  • Chartered professional registration/accreditation.
  • Significant senior management experience in estates and facilities management.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and budget management.
  • Experience in partnership working and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong technical, project management, and negotiation skills.
