Job Overview:
Our client have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Applied Engineering Designer to join their established team of engineers and technicians. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and developing new machinery, contributing to the innovation and growth of our organisation.

Monday to Friday – 4.5 day working week (early finish friday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new machinery in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Utilise Solidworks 3D CAD for the creation of detailed machine designs.
  • Apply modern Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the manufacturing process.
  • Generate 3D schemes of machines before finalizing the design.
  • Functionally dimension 2D drawings based on 3D models.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of appropriate limits and fits, as well as geometrical tolerancing.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the design process and overall product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Proven background in Machine Tool design or Special Purpose Machinery.
  • Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of modern Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Ability to produce 3D schemes of machines and dimension 2D drawings.
  • Familiarity with appropriate limits and fits and geometrical tolerancing.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Enjoys challenges and thrives in a dynamic work environment.
