Job Description

Applications are invited for a Design Innovation Lecturer (PGT) (1.0 FTE), in the School of Innovation and Technology based at GSA’s Highland and Island Campus in Forres.

GSA’s School of Innovation and Technology (SIT) emerges from the combination of our internationally renowned Innovation School and The School of Simulation and Visualisation. The SIT will be a global leader in post-disciplinary, design-led innovation and the exploration of emergent technologies as they relate to contemporary society and our future challenges. The SIT is committed to exploring the relationship between humanity, technology and ecology expressed through creative practice and intellectual collaboration across disciplinary boundaries.

While employed within the SIT, the lecturer will contribute to the delivery of M.Des Design Innovation portfolio in the Altyre academic portfolio and related research agenda, in particular, the four specialist pathways in the M. Des Design Innovation and Interaction Design: Interaction Design, Environmental Design, Circular Economy and Future Heritage.

The postholder will also help develop additional academic Courses and programme elements, supporting the PGT Core Research Methods teaching at Stage 1, and developing a specific PGT Elective in Community and Place, which aims to secure and enhance the student experience of Altyre students. The Community and Place domain also links L&T activity to GSA Research Theme for REF, the nascent Rural Lab and its research themes, while competency in Technology and Care in the role permit links with DHI and the larger Research Projects with Altyre Estates.

Competences and specific skills on Emergent Technologies would be advantageous.
