Job description: The person who will be a fit for this role will be comfortable working in an international company environment with, able to oversee timely BAU accounting operations and work on process improvement and automation (particularly with regards to revenue recognition). Its also important to have a proven track record in hiring, developing and managing teams whilst managing senior stakeholder relationships.There is a clear line of progression in this role too, though it will initially be a very hands on role, particularly with regards to process improvements and automation.Key skills
- Provide leadership and direction to the Accounting and Revenue teams responsible for preparing accurate reporting and ensuring accounting controls.
- Manage the firms annual external audit process.
- Partner with the transformation team on strategic initiatives to develop effective management reporting tools.
- Publish detailed analysis and meaningful commentary on data accuracy, the monthly close process with a view to improving MI.
- Business Partner with internal stakeholders in complex revenue sensitive topics with regards to new initiatives around cash collection, reporting and analysis.
- Critically evaluate reporting and analytical processes used for analysis, reporting, and dashboards to help with driving finance transformation.
- Primary ownership for the accounting and reporting of the firms revenue streams.
- Oversee the end-to-end process for the services contract and order based revenue business.
- Apply ASC 606 (or IFRS 15) from contracts with customers to support monthly close process.
- Ad hoc and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Required skills and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance field
- ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent qualification.
- Able to demonstrate leadership in general accounting and in revenue accounting
- Understanding of ASC 606 strongly preferred. (understanding revenue for contracts with customers)
- Without ASC 606, deep understanding of IFRS 15 is a prerequisite.
- Experience with Netsuite strongly preferred.
- Proven ability working in fast paced and challenging environment.
- Ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
- Experience accounting in a multinational environment.
- Track record hiring, managing and developing a high performing team.
- Track record identifying and implementing process improvements and automation.
