The opportunity
Finance Consulting works with clients to address mission critical issues for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) creating value and delivering world-class future finance capabilities, leveraging the EY brand as impartial, trusted advisors
You will work in multi-disciplinary teams for some of the biggest and most recognised brands in the world, applying the latest technologies and analytical methods to help drive their business performance and digital finance transformation agendas that make a real difference to our working world.
A growth area for us is Digital Finance – enabling a cross-functional implementation approach, designed to help CFOs realize the benefits of new technologies with a focus on building finance capabilities.

Your key responsibilities
You will build relationships at senior levels within client organisations, working with them to understand their most critical business problems and priorities, consulting with your EY peers to evaluate, design, and deliver solution options that leverage cutting edge technologies.
You will motivate and manage high performing diverse teams, aligned to EY’s values. delivering exceptional client service preparing our clients for a digital future.

You will add measurable value to your clients by delivering work that addresses their biggest problems and priorities, including the need to:
- Contribute to continued growth and profitability for EY, by identifying and capitalising on business development opportunities in existing and potential clients for own and other areas of the firm
- Engage new and existing clients to build and foster trusted long-term relationships, gaining trusted-advisor status, with a focus on key decision-makers in your sector (Consumer Business, Life Sciences, TMT, Energy and Resources or Public Finance)
- Deliver leading practice Digital Finance solutions such as:
- Lead programmes and projects of a large size and complexity, with respect to planning, managing, and executing the delivery of engagements, including overseeing the writing of client reports and the review and quality assurance of work products
- Apply a strong knowledge of finance technologies, the business value they deliver, and the dependencies on client systems and business architecture for them to be value add
- Lead and advise on the finance systems strategy, navigating the dependencies on other corporate and cross functional back-office systems
- Lead the development of finance systems roadmaps that are aligned with wider organisation and finance transformation programmes and priorities
- Collaborate with vendors and with other lines of service and global territories to deliver EY best practice to clients
- Lead the establishment and development of relationships both internally and with clients, as well as leading business development activity (including developing, contributing to and presenting proposals/bids for future work)
- Take a leading role in processes and initiatives that are key to scaling the business and achieving our aims for Digital Finance
- Adopt “digital” ways of working to increase flexibility and accelerate delivery:
- Plan, design, and execute design-led thinking process re-engineering workshops
- Process design grounded in customer outcomes and user experience adopting LEAN methodologies and automation technologies
- Structure and implement Agile delivery methods
- Understand and apply relevant technologies such as:
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Intelligent Automation (IA) (including IA enabled chatbots)
- SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP ECC
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Blackline
- Blockchain
- Process mining and or process re-engineering
- NetSuite
- Oracle Fusion
- Oracle Hyperion
- OneStream
- Anaplan
To qualify for the role you must have
- A consulting background, with experience of business development and solution design for complex multi-national businesses
- Cross functional finance expertise, with knowledge of various business functions and their interdependencies with Finance
- Experience of managing and leading finance transformation programmes enabled by technology
- A network of client relationships across your market sector (such as Consumer Business, Life Sciences, TMT, Energy and Resources or Public Finance), and potentially beyond the UK, with a strong sales track record
- Extensive experience of being fully accountable for project / programme delivery across a range of finance technology projects, with the ability to align traditional management techniques with agile ways of working
- Detailed knowledge of account management, business development and the consulting sales cycle, with demonstrable experience of large scale, complex accounts / sectors
- Have a proven track record of building lasting relationships and influence senior colleagues and clients in leading roles.
- Have a proven track record for identifying and capitalising on new revenue streams and generating new business
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to storyboard and create high quality outputs
- Excellent problem solving, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Track record of line managing professional services staff, including coaching and developing staff
- A valid and certified professional accounting qualification
