We are a part of the DECATHLON Group, one of the world’s biggest sports brands.The job:As the leader in Digital Trading, positioned within the Digital Team, you play a crucial role in expanding Decathlon’s market share in the UK through website merchandising, commercial activation, and content creation for the e-commerce platform.Your influence extends beyond your immediate team, as you provide substantial input and contribute to the strategic and operational direction of Decathlon’s digital function. Close collaboration with the Digital Director, other Digital leaders, and leaders from various functions within Decathlon is essential.Initially, this role will entail a transformation, responsible for shifting the team’s focus from Web Merchandising responsibilities (e.g., website content updates, content governance, etc.) to a trading-first mentality. Therefore, our ideal candidate should be energised by change management, adept at people management and P&L responsibility, while familiarity with content and product information management (PIM) systems would be advantageous.Responsibilities:Digital Trading:Enhance customer purchasing experience across Decathlon’s sports ecosystems for both Decathlon’s own and third-party brands.Manage a team of 4 to 6 digital sports leaders.Drive growth of the Digital P&L through revenue, gross profit, and net profit optimisation.Utilise tools such as category page ordering, coupons, bundling, and other digital promotion capabilities to adjust product display and promotion mix.Implement dynamic pricing and inventory management strategies.Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities.Collaborate with procurement, supplier relations, and marketing teams to drive product assortment and pricing strategies.Influence key stakeholders to ensure strategy alignment and success.Collaborate with Digital Trading, Marketing, Photography, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to incorporate best practices.Use product and performance data to understand customer behaviour and demand, informing web merchandising roadmap development aligned with strategy and goals.Track and report on web merchandising activities’ progress and impact.Optimise core product content based on customer behaviour to improve conversion rates.Propose and share the product vision with all stakeholders, including users and the development team.Web Merchandising:Drive and implement Decathlon content strategy (product selection, taxonomy, content fill, product governance and PIM system)Develop a deep understanding of Decathlon’s customers and their product needs and journey within the e-commerce platform.Use product and performance data to understand demand and develop a merchandising planOptimize core product content based on customer behaviour to improve conversionUnderstand, enhance and then implement the digital content strategy and governance of PIM, MDM, DAM, etc. Work with other Decathlon functions on these topics, including colleagues in FranceWork collaboratively and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the e-commerce strategy.About you:You are passionate about sportsBachelor’s Degree preferred5+ years experience in Digital eCommerce required (Digital Trading experience strongly preferred; B2C and Content Management a plus)For Digital trading, the candidate’s experience could include elements such as, but not limited to:Understanding key P&L components and how pricing and volume can impact commercial outcomesdeveloping and managing commercial activations and campaigns to achieve commercial goalsKPI ownership and responsibilitymanaging supplier relationships (content, new products, dropship),Using data to drive and adjust decision-making (e.g., Google Analytics, Content Square, Financial reports, etc.)An innate passion for the digital space and an awareness of best practices, trends and opportunitiesSpecific requirements/Work environment:This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least three days a week in our Office in London (Surrey Quays)Benefits that await youGet to enjoy the following benefits and perks:Hybrid workingHealthy employee discount on all Decathlon productsWeekly Staff Sports/Activities and free access to our office gymCycle-to-Work SchemeAccess to private healthcareGym, food, and travel discounts… and many moreABOUT DECATHLONHeadquartered in France, DECATHLON specializes in the creation of sports products and their distribution online and in stores at more than 1,700 locations in 61 countries.
