Due to expansion of the team the opportunity has arisen to join a busy Technical Services Team ISO9001 accredited, the Hard FM part of the in-house Facilities Management services.
This is a full time role permanent role within the electrical engineering team led by the Senior electrical engineer.
The TST team deliver a wide range of statutory compliance programs and capital improvement projects for the councils corporate, Leisure and education property portfolio (Non-housing). The Technical Services Team is the construction arm of Facilities Management and was short listed for the New London Awards in 2019 for its extensive remodelling/ refurbishment of an Edwardian Period Library in Bethnal Green.
TST consists of specialist electrical engineers, building surveyors and mechanical engineers with senior engineers and surveyors as the relevant team leaders

The Electrical Engineer role is to organise and manage the electrical works allocated to ensure delivery of these aspects of the team’s overall objectives
To provide an exemplary professional service to ensure that properties are effectively and efficiently maintained, repaired, adapted, improved or replaced, in accordance with client requirements, good practice, legislative and statutory requirements and to achieve agreed performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing and leading on all allotted electrical aspects under direction from the Senior Electrical Engineer regarding the planning, review and delivery of these electrical engineering works to fully meet the requirements of the Council’s corporate repairs, Statutory maintenance and development, revenue and capital programmes.
The role includes providing technical advice on various works and projects required to maintain, improve and/or develop corporate property. Design, specification and management of Fire Alarm and emergency lighting projects and Statutory compliance programs for the full range of electrical aspects including leading on the day to day management of the statutory compliance regime for the electrical team including Fire alarm, emergency lighting, intruder alarms, access control and other items.
The development of designs from conception for fire alarm and emergency lighting systems through specification and formal tender process to managing project delivery within agreed time and cost constraints.
As an acknowledged electrical engineering expert across the broad portfolio of works including but not limited to electrical refurbishment projects of large multi floor office blocks, through to the technical expert to guide electricians in the correct processes to maintain the councils broad range of equipment in its portfolio of Non-housing buildings ensuring reactive repairs are correctly specified and delivered.

Requirements
Fully qualified in Electrical Installation with City and Guilds 236 Part 1 & Part 2 or NVQ3 with the addition of City and Guilds 24001 and 2391or HND Electrical Engineering.
Qualified to the current edition of BS7671
The Candidate will have extensive experience initially as a full qualified Electrician working in Commercial Buildings and then extensive experience as an office based manager in direct management of Electrical engineers delivering works to commercial/ corporate property portfolio.
Experience in design and specification of Fire Alarm systems and emergency lighting schemes for commercial buildings as well as Design and specification of new or replacement/ refurbishment large electrical fixed wired installations in commercial applications.
