Salary: £40,000 + offshore allowance with time off in lieu
Working from home:
Start between 7:30am-9am, Monday to Friday
Finish between 4.00pm-6.00pm Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm Friday
Hybrid working (currently 3 days in the office per week)

Main Purpose of Job:
My client are looking to hire a field service / Electronics installation technician and will hire entry level, junior technicians with limited experience as they can train on the job OR experience technicians looking for a new challenge!
They are within the marine and Oil and Gas industry and this role will involve offshore work on vessels approximately 90 days and this is adhoc and at short notice and the duration can be anything from 2 says to 6 weeks!

To become a dependable member of the UK FSE team, with the ability to support the build, installation, testing and initial operation of the product range at client locations worldwide.
To provide technical support and troubleshooting advice to clients.
To provide training to customers and personnel on the product range.
Initial project:
- Installation of GunLink source controller systems on client vessels.
- Termination of GunLink umbilicals at supplier premises.
- Testing and support of engineering developments.
People
You will work in a small team of FSEs (x3) based in the UK, further FSEs based in Singapore and with the UK engineering group (x20) with a mix of Electronics, Software, Mechanical and Sustaining engineers.
- Develop a good working relationship with all levels
- Develop a good working rapport within the FSE team
- Develop a good working relationship with customers at all levels
Key Skills:
- Mobile and able to travel abroad often on short notice
- British National or Visa approved to travel to foreign countries (e.g. in South America, Africa, Asia)
- Medically fit to meet the Offshore Medical Certificate
- Able to pass the BOSIET course
- Experience of ‘hands-on’ mechanical fitting, electronics and use of Linux or Windows OS
- MUST have a passport
- MUST have a driver licence
- Be British National OR EU settled for travel
- Able to travel at short notice
- Able to pass a medical exam
- Engineering degree or HNC
- Fault finding and trouble shooting skills
- Soldering and able to handle tools such as hand tools
- PCB level work
Desired skills:
- Technical support desk experience
- Fiber optic telemetry experience
- Offshore experience
- Soldering / wiring loom assembly
- Fault finding / troubleshooting techniques
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Field Service
- Installation of products at worldwide locations
- Testing of products at worldwide locations and in the UK
- Initial supporting operation of products at worldwide locations
- Mostly working independently when offshore
- Providing operational support to the FSE Team Lead
- Assist in planning your work-schedule and driving route for the following week
- Cooperate with engineering team and share information across the organisation
- Produce timely and detailed service reports following the documentation processes
- Operation, maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
- Build a detailed working knowledge of the product range
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
- Build positive relationships with customers
- Provide Email support to clients worldwide in a 24/7 Industry
- Prepare adequately for any tasks, including creating a supporting documentation pack
- Contribute to development documentation for new products
- Contribute to the test specification documentation for products
- Contribute to the manuals and supporting documentation for products
- Test and evaluate software releases
- Purchasing
- Arrange Purchase Requests for any FSE equipment required to complete a task
- Logistics
- Assist in ensuring that all equipment required to carry out the FSE tasks is available at the work site or is transported in a timely fashion prior to arriving at the work site
- Travel
- Arrange travel for your specific FSE tasks following company procedure
- Spend time working offshore, abroad at customer or supplier sites or at other facilities worldwide
- Health & Safety
- Undertake BOSIET offshore training and medicals for working offshore
- Assist in ensuring that all FSE work is conducted following Health & Safety legislation and guidance
- Sales
- Support the Sales Manager in dealing with customer enquiries and advising on Sales Orders
- Customer Training
- Assist with the delivery of customer training courses in Shepton Mallet
- Deliver training courses at customer locations including offshore on vessels
- To maximise the potential of all available resources, e.g. people and machinery, whilst conforming to all statutory and company standards
- To identify problems and to work with all personnel to deliver affective resolution of same by taking appropriate action
- To ensure quality is always in place, and instances of non-compliance are reported and acted upon
- To provide training where applicable to personnel
- To undertake such training as is viewed necessary by the company to improve personal performance or to meet the overall business objectives
- To be flexible and provide cover if required and during any periods of planned overtime
- To achieve targeted outputs specific to your role
- To complete all required administration as dictated by the role
