This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fun, friendly, and hardworking Careers and Placements team at an exciting time. We play an important role in Aston’s recently launched 2030 strategy with plenty of opportunity for growth and innovation. Well known for being pioneers of placement programmes and currently runner-up for University of the Year for Graduate Prospects (Sunday Times, 2023), our work centres around the delivery of outstanding graduate outcomes and equipping businesses and communities with the skills for the future. You will collaborate with like-minded colleagues, develop new skills, and be a part of a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead on data analysis, insights, and data compliance for the department. The role reports directly to the Head of Student and Employer Engagement and liaises closely with the Director of Employability and other Heads within the team. You will be the go-to data lead in the team and act on student data and information analysis requests from members of the department and wider University.

You will need to be proactive and take a flexible approach, creatively using data, and applying the institutional and departmental context to our data to support our strategic objectives. With an inquisitive nature, you will have experience working with large data sets and transforming data into understandable and engaging insights. You will have experience in data extrapolation, mining, monitoring, analysis and reporting with the ability to think creatively and find efficiencies in operational activity related to data and information. A collaborative approach with the ability to manage unpredictability will be essential.
