Careers & Enterprise sits within the Education Division, which is headed by the Vice Provost (Education), and is part of the University’s developmental approach to ensuring effective student engagement, achievement and positive progression.
The Careers & Enterprise (C&E) Centre is a dynamic and developing team, operating across the university through subject departments, colleges, societies and industry-facing initiatives to support the development and progression needs of students. It aims to help them meet the challenges and opportunities of the constantly developing employment market, and become the leaders and innovators of the near future.
This exciting role, based in the Work based learning and Employer engagement strand of the Careers and Enterprise team, will have responsibility for the strategic development and direction of the employer relations function to meet both employer and student requirements. The post holder will have direct line management of a team of staff supporting employer engagement activities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated manager with the ability to lead and motivate a team. The post holder will be required to keep abreast of changing employer expectations and recruitment process to improve student employability outcomes and to meet the needs of our students. Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to network and influence and the ability to build and maintain successful business relationships with all stakeholders are essential. The post also requires excellent organisational, time management and IT skills. A current understanding of the Graduate Labour Market and how universities and businesses can positively influence employability is essential. You must be a team player with a proven record of innovation and achievement in a customer-focused service delivery environment.
The post requires the willingness and ability to travel to employer locations with occasional need for overnight stays.
