Job Description

Working within a collaborative team as a member of Endpoints & Entitlements, the role is responsible for the configuration management & engineering support for client endpoint devices. The role holder is expected to contribute to endpoint deployment process and service designs for the development of expanding services supporting endpoint devices.

A major commitment has been made to the InTune and Jamf Pro endpoint management toolsets and this role is key to achieving maximum benefit from that investment. We are in a continuing cycle of designing secure, effective and efficient services that will enable the strategic objective of providing better support for all users of Windows and Apple devices.

The holder of this role will be working in collaboration with other expert Windows & Apple engineers to develop, maintain & improve a consistent set of services for both platforms where appropriate and possible.

You

You are expected to hold a background of supporting endpoint devices within a large IT environment and to possess experience in the deployment and configuration of devices at scale efficiently.

You will possess good skills working with configuration management solutions and have good experience of supporting client operating systems at a system level including working with scripting languages.

You will possess experience of building application installation packages.

You will have experience of enterprise monitoring tools, and the challenges of monitoring and managing a large endpoint device estate. This will include endpoint security and device compliance reporting.

You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced academic environment and will be a key member of the wider engineering & support team within which you will be expected to build strong, effective working relationships. You will be expected to become a subject matter expert for the services that you develop and will oversee their transition to operational teams as required. The role will require you to prioritise and manage your workload effectively and respond promptly to new requirements where necessary. 

The position is full time and open ended.

Salary: £39,347 – £44,263 per annum (Grade 6)
