Job description: Summary of Position:
There are 2 positions, the first position assists engineers and technicians in the field measuring or calculating quantities, construction inspection, and assists the project engineer in project management functions of municipal infrastructure projects. Consults plans and specifications and standard practices to determine compliance; prepares spreadsheets or estimates for payment for materials used in construction. May draft maps, surveying and engineering plans, charts, diagrams, graphs, tables and sketches for the City-wide projects. Operate copiers, scanners and printers to reproduce engineering plans and maps for staff and public. Performs related duties as assigned.
The second position assists with field surveying, duties include but are not limited to; conducts or assists in conducting topographic, construction, traffic and inventory surveys, including staking of construction projects and project control points. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on the surveying equipment and other tools. Assist Survey Technicians during construction inspections verifying horizontal and vertical locations of improvements. Scan, file and retrieve surveying and engineering plans, maps, exhibits and various documents; update files and keep reference system current. May draft maps, surveying and engineering plans, charts, diagrams, graphs, tables and sketches for the City-wide projects. Operate copiers, scanners and printers to reproduce engineering plans and maps for staff and public. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a curriculum in Land Surveying, Engineering Technology, Transportation, Civil, or closely related Engineering field at an accredited college or university with a current grade point average of 2.75 or above a 4-point scale.
- Valid driver’s license in ND or the state you currently reside.
Additional Information:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
