Job Description
We are currently looking for an Engineering Leader, to join our team in the West Midlands. The successful Candidates will have a significant experience gained in an Automotive industry. Some of the day-to-day activities may involve:
- Involvement in the ETG Gateway procedure, engineering standards and best practices, commodity standards and lessons learned.
- Establishing engineering scope, timing, and budgets from sales handover, prior to project launch.
- Building strong bonds of trust and dependency with existing and future customers.
- Mentoring graduates and apprentices to actively enhance development.
- Engineering management of resource and commodity project budgets and creation of engineering timing in all function groups.
- Coordination of engineering kick-off and required documentation including product data, RFQ addendums, customer specification and compliance.
- Compiling technical scope of RFQs for commercial items and engineering resource, and support the PM and/or external Engineering Manager in sourcing process up to management approval.
- Utilising management and communication skills when leading all automation solutions, material logistics and controls systems resource.
- Ensuring good quality engineering buy-off schedule is adhered to and attended by all key internal and customer stakeholders, in line with project timing.
- Close liaison with install and commissioning team during automation summary maturation for efficient site technical leadership.
- Supporting continuous improvement of company engineering procedures, technologies and processes with new document snags or ideas.
- Co-writing commissioning plan and FAT specification with Controls Leader.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Technical specialism of special purpose machine design and a broad knowledge of Automation Solutions functional skills and procedures.
- Understanding of machinery directive, (low voltage, EMC), and the supporting harmonised standards, electrical EN 60204-1, pneumatics EN 4414, risk assessment for PL using SISTEMA for ISO 13849-1 and 2, robot integration to ISO 10128-2, and collaborative robots to TS 15066.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
