Job description: ENT Team Medical SecretaryWe are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Medical Secretary to join our busy department. This role requires a hard working individual who has great organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly.Main duties of the jobThis job involves managing and organising the workload of the ENT clinicians. Your communication skills must be first class alongside a professional and friendly manner, as you will regularly interact with patients, clinicians, colleagues, and people both internal and external to the Trust.You must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as you will manage patient’s through their treatment pathway.   • Ability to priortise workload and meet deadlines and use own initiative
  • Ability to remain calm in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of a range of secretarial work, procedures and practice
  • Able to analyse information and make the required judgements
  • Accurate data entry, text processing, storage of data, and attention to detail

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of NHS systems – PAS Allscripts & Sunrise
  • Previous experience of working within a busy administrative environment.
  • Medical terminology

QualificationEssential

  • GCSE, or equivalent, in Maths and English

  • Secretarial or Computer skills qualification

  • Excellent organisational skills.
