The role:
We are looking for an Enterprise Security Architect to join our Information Security team in Leeds or London.
The role of Enterprise Security Architect is to refine and shape the technology strategy and roadmap in order to maintain the international division’s security posture. You will translate and accurately communicate security and risk implications at the most senior levels across technical and non-technical stakeholders
What you’ll do
You will work on programmes with high strategic impact, helping to set a strategy that can be used in the long term and across the breadth of the organisation
The focus of this role is to work in partnership with key business personnel and technology teams to seek innovative, compliant and sustainable solutions, controls and patterns to ensure the Technology function can deliver our bold strategy safely, cost effectively and with a clear view of risks.
Working closely with our brands, design, build and implement information security strategies and solutions that can help enhance division performance.
The role will also work with the wider Strategy and Delivery teams to perform Due Diligence M&A activities both pre and post-acquisition. This will involve audits against policies, summarising and presenting back findings, recommendations and risk implications to C-level executives and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The role will include coaching, mentoring and collaborating with brand security teams to deliver successful architecture and solution outcomes.
Reporting to the Chief Architect – with a dotted line into the division Senior Director of Security – this is a vital role in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality and availability of key information, technology and systems and to provide strategic direction across our brands.
Principal Accountabilities:
Be the architectural authority on how the International division land controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of key information, technology and business assets within our brands and services
Evaluate security proposals against the available tooling on the market to provide solutions to business problems
Act as the lead security architect across all Flutter International cross-brand cutting initiatives
Work with the wider enterprise and solution architecture teams to ensure we are producing high-quality, robust, cost-effective and compliant architectures
Influence Security policies and create standards and guardrails ensuring these are implemented maximising standard methodologies across our brands. This will involve working closely with – and influencing – brand Security leadership teams
Develop and embed reusable architecture patterns, approaches and frameworks for cyber security controls
Create and embed security posture feedback loops. Making sure we’re continually reviewing, learning and evolving
Work with a wide stakeholder audience on solving the cyber security aspects of complex business and technology challenges.
Able to effectively communicate, interact and influence business and operational stakeholders and partners
Design, architect and troubleshoot complex security implementations, leading delivery of Impact Assessments and HLD documents
Work with the Chief Architect, Senior Director of Information Security, CTO and cyber security teams and architects across the organisation to ensure consistency and alignment of the technology roadmaps across the whole organisation.
Support the Chief Architect to establish and develop architecture and design governance processes to ensure business outcome alignment and improve quality of work. Ensure fully aligned to Transformation initiatives.
Ability to drive creation of prototypes and proof of concepts
Coach, mentor and collaborate with brand and division security teams to deliver successful architecture and solution outcomes
Keep pace with change in new technologies, methods and products.
Provide oversight for budgets and project plans and manage technology risks and issues.
Lead and participate in architectural reviews of software, infrastructure, data and other architectures.
Leads product evaluations, RFP’s, POC’s and business decisions to prove new capabilities and technologies, ensure fit and scale into the platform and the organization.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Security Solution Architect or similar
Understand and articulate the impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs and systems, and how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities
A domain expert across one or more key aspects of cyber security as Identity Access Management and Cloud Security with a broad understanding of other areas
Familiar with cloud-based enterprise security technologies with a focus on AWS
Experience of Secure SDLC. Previous experience of ensuring practices are embedded into the SDLC, including threat modelling, code analysis (SAST/DAST) and security testing
Problem solving ability and strong analytical skills
Ability to execute on brand scale and make pragmatic architecture decisions, quick wins with long term vision
Experience in an architectural leadership role, specifically Internet based businesses from Betting and Gaming, Retail, Banking and/or IT Consultancy, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
Significant experience in a software design and development role using web technologies and server-side applications such as C++/Java/.NET/REST/Event Based architectures and leveraging messaging technologies such as Kafka/AMQ
Knowledge of and exposure to DAST, SAST, SCA, SIEM, DLP, DDOS protection, vulnerability management tooling and approaches
Experience of Software Development Methodologies and Frameworks. For example, Agile and Unified Process.
Be able to establish NFRs, implement and measure them
A strong customer, and delivery focus with considerable experience delivering technology solutions at a hands-on level.
Superb communication skills at all levels, from user up to C-level executives.
A strong customer focus and will be delivery driven and have the ability to keep a strategic focus whilst dealing tactically with day-to-day issues.
Capable of running multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
Willingness to learn new things, take ownership and solve complex issues.
Desirable:
CISSP/CCSP/CCSK certification or its equivalent
AWS accreditations
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, servers, deployment, provisioning, networking, and security.
Significant experience of solutions delivery/business architecture of COTS platforms
Consistent track record and ability in leading technical staff, using wide-ranging skills (including planning, organising and interpersonal skills)
