Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Duration: 2-3 months initially, with likely extensions

Location: Pembrokeshire

Our client is seeking an Environmental Health Officer who will be required to carry out combined food hygiene and standards inspections.

Your responsibilities:

  • Undertake proactive food safety and standards inspections, in accordance with agreed priorities and programmes of work, with published Codes of Practice and Practice Guidance, and established policies and procedures
  • Undertake inspections of ‘approved’ premises, pursuant to the approval process and thereafter to ensure that applicable conditions are met
  • Take food samples for microbiological examination or analysis, as required, as part of planned sampling programmes and on a targeted basis in support of investigations
  • Take timely and appropriate action where sample results are returned, in accordance with published Codes of Practice and Practice Guidance, and established policies and procedures
  • Prioritise and respond to service requests, including complaints about food and food premises, and food-related incidents, in accordance with published Codes of Practice and Practice Guidance, and established policies and procedures
  • Receive and respond appropriately to food safety and standards referrals from other enforcement authorities and/or the Food Standards Agency Wales, including Food Alerts for action

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board
  • Competent in both food hygiene and food standards inspections with relevant experience in both
