Estates Project Manager at University of Winchester
Job Description
The University of Winchester is looking to appoint an Estates Project Manager, for the delivery of construction projects and addressing maintenance/building issues for the University. As part of the Projects & Estate Management Team, the Estates Project Manager will work with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring internal customer’s needs are clearly defined and met.
As Estates Project Manager you will be required to procure and manage project teams, to include internal stakeholders, multidisciplinary design/consultant teams as well as contractors. This will be undertaken in accordance with both University and public procurement regulations. Strong management of these consultants, suppliers and contractors is required, with the Project Manager ensuring robust contract administration is undertaken at all times.
Health and safety is a key priority, with consideration to be given to the safe undertaking of works as well as ongoing activities on the campus. To this end, Project Managers will be responsible for fulfilling the role of ‘Client’, as well as ‘Principal Designer’ where appropriate, as outlined in the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 on behalf of the institution.
The successful candidate must be an experienced construction Project Manager of diverse and wide-ranging projects, with a proven ability to deliver construction/refurbishment projects on time, budget and to the required level of quality. You will be able to build relationships and from this, must have a strong customer service focus with an ability to resolve tensions and difficulties as they arise for projects. Such as being able to sensitively challenge the end-user brief when elements of it are undeliverable or contradictory.
