The Faculty of Social Sciences has an administrative position available and welcomes applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join its Faculty Operating Service, as a Faculty Administrator based at Highfield Campus. The Faculty Operating Service (FOS) works with Faculty, Deanery and School Senior Leadership Teams to support those areas of work which provide essential services to our core business of education, research, and enterprise. We underpin the achievement of the strategic objectives of the University. Our students and staff come from a wide range of backgrounds, within the UK and internationally, creating a multicultural and diverse community. You will join a supportive and friendly FOS team. To be successful you will be a motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team player who is culturally sensitive and is able to work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment. You will be able to build strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external organisations and groups and be able to liaise confidently with your stakeholders.

As a member of our growing and dynamic Events & KEE team you will work across our 5 Schools on a range of activities including organising small- and large-scale events and administering Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise (KEE) projects, KEE activity includes working with external stakeholders and businesses. You will also have the opportunity for involvement in creating content for social media and also website support.
About You
Your career so far might include some administrative work experience which allows you to use your own initiative, as well as manage your own time effectively with minimal supervision, or be looking for an opportunity to take a useful and relevant step in your career post-study. You will be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a strong team player. You will have strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also essential requirements. You will have strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and similar software. This role may suit either a motivated professional with relevant work experience looking for career development or a recent graduate with some experience looking for an opportunity to explore career opportunities within a higher education or public sector environment.
Successful candidates will be able to work flexibly and remotely and will be expected to spend at least 60% of their contracted hours working on campus. Flexibility will be required should the business need require a greater on-site presence.
