 About the team

The University Events Team are responsible for planning, managing, and delivering all University led events with the aim of raising the profile of the University and building and stewarding strategic relationships with its stakeholders and key external constituencies. 

Events include: 

  • Summer and Winter Graduations at the Lowry Centre (Salford Quays) and on campus in Maxwell Hall, respectively, with over 6000 students graduating every year.
  • Programme of lectures throughout the year featuring high profile names and professorial colleagues.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s Awards.
  • VIP visits and other high-profile activity that the University hosts, on or off the campus.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. Reporting to an Events Manager, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, highly organised, creative Events Officer who will work collaboratively with the wider team, across the University, and with external suppliers, to help deliver our varied programme of events.

We have 2 roles available. 1 x permanent and 1 x fixed term for 12 months. Please apply for both via this role.

About you

You will bring a passion for events, demonstrating experience from concept through to delivery (in-person and online), with a proven track record for delivering an excellent experience for guests and stakeholders.

You will have exceptional organisational skills, with an eye for detail, able to prioritise well and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

You will need to be a good communicator, with strong written and verbal skills, and be confident working alongside a variety of colleagues, building relationships.
