Facilities Support Officer at University of Leeds

The University of Leeds has an Agricultural Estate comprised of 317 hectares, located 12 miles from Leeds, to the west of Tadcaster. The estate supports academic research and teaching, as well as being a commercially operated arable and pig farm that hosts research and innovation projects. 

We are looking for a professional and proactive individual to join our team based in the Nigel Bertram Visitor Centre. Reporting to the Farm Manager the primary focus of this role is assisting the Farm Operations and Research Teams in the management of University of Leeds Research Farm. The role will ensure the smooth running of the day to day operation of the facility, including the wider farm sites at Headley Hall and Wise Warren Farms. You will be greeting visitors, liaising with researchers, internal trade teams and external contractors, to ensure that the site is managed and maintained to a very high standard. You will have a financial role to play in the management of the farm, reporting to the Farm Manager, setting annual budgets, raising purchase orders, receiving goods and services and goods receipting for payment. 

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a confident and professional telephone manner.  You will have experience of working within a team using your own initiative, whilst working to tight deadlines.  You will need to be exceptionally well organised to manage the variety of tasks and requests to ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained. 

Your working hours will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
