Job Description
Segula is delivering a cross department design and installation project for our customer covering conveyors and facilities in Paintshop and Bodyshop. This is a dynamic team working on many aspects of the manufacturing lines with varied roles. This team adds to a strong and ongoing relationship with our customer and is key to the success of this and other projects.
The team are responsible for introduction of new facilities (power, air, fire protection etc), materials product lines and new/ current vehicle freshening programmes. You will work with logistics, production, process and conveyors teams to design and improve facilities and installations, improving efficiency and creating space on the shop floor.
As a Facility Engineering Manager you will be delivering the global manufacturing strategy and world class facility solutions through:
- Product implementation programs
- Technology Innovation
- Legacy improvement projects
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a team of Facility Engineers on a daily basis.
- Assessing feasibility of new facilities and processes, development and management of projects for cost, quality and timing.
- Supporting the area by providing the required capability and capacity at facilities and supporting equipment, aligned to the programme milestones, launch plans and production requirements.
- Completing feasibility and cost evaluations for proposed new or modified facilities and processes define robust delivery plans with minimised disruption to operations.
- Developing engineering solutions that are suited to the capabilities of appropriate facility and its associated process characteristics as directed.
- Developing robust/lean layout solutions to support facility project delivery or process/operational efficiency improvements.
- Managing, maintaining and developing all Health, Safety and Operational Risk Management processes and site-specific processes and systems at the area.
- Co-ordinating the support and input of all relevant stakeholders to achieve acceptance, buy-off and successful handover of new or modified facilities.
- Working closely with Manufacturing and other Engineering disciplines across the company to deliver programs & facility projects to cost targets and timing.
- Providing a Manufacturing Engineering support role to Plant personnel as a member of cross-functional teams for problem solving and continuous improvement activities with regard to Safety, Quality & Cost.
- Leading & partaking in multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases ensuring company procurement procedures are met & adhered to.
- Tracking project based KPI’s & make ready for report out to departmental manager on a weekly basis.
Qualifications
You will be an experienced advanced manufacturing engineer having worked in facilities and conveyors design and install. Energetic with a can do, self starter, independent approach and capable of managing your own areas and a team.
Essential to have:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Sound engineering and manufacturing background with previous experience in Facilities Development and Engineering.
- Experience of managing a small team of Engineers.
- Proven experience and understanding of process conveyor technologies.
- Experience of reliability and maintainability principals and an understanding of the environmental impacts of engineering solutions.
- Working knowledge of the application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Ability to manage suppliers and project budgets.
- Good communication skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
Additional Information
- 6 – 12 months+ contract (PAYE/Inside IR35)
