Remote (Torrance, CA Area)Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!Program SummaryIn this role, the successful candidate will be required to work directly with suppliers to satisfy Honeywell’s quality standards and strategy in the manufacture of Aerospace and engine components. As a field Quality representative, you will be required to interact with all levels of supplier management.Job SummaryOrganizationally, you will report directly to the KBR Sr. Operations Manager, Field Quality Engineering. You will be expected to travel in support of a variety of supplier oversight functions, spending much of your time at supplier facilities and working remotely. As Regional Technical Lead, the successful candidate will be required to coordinate workflow between Field Quality Engineers and be the focal to resolve any technical issues at various suppliers. You will be required to conduct Field Quality Engineer training and technical skill development in conjunction with the KBR Sr. Operations Manager, Field Quality EngineeringAs KBR’s point of contact within the supply base in direct support of OEM site requirements, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership to coordinate and conduct Gap Analysis where required and evaluate procedures for compliance to contractual and regulatory requirements (including international regulation coordination issues)
  • Utilize the KBR dashboard to review and present metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements within the supply base.
  • Utilize data from the KBR dashboard to shift workload for FAIRS to other FQE’s with capacity to burn down backlogs and support customer demand and metric performance.
  • Audit First Articles of Field Quality Engineers in the other RTL’s region per the customer requirements and provide training and corrective action for any deviations found.
  • Provide group training when there is a finding that will impact more than the individual that was audited.
  • Ensure that ESFD is pursued for suppliers identified by the customer by the timeline requested and the KBR Dashboard and customer master list are updated to reflect adds and removal of a supplier that no longer are willing to participate or due to poor performance.
  • Prepare progress reports for support of critical customer transitions that will require review of first article to a transition timeline to support multiple Honeywell sites. You will support transition program reviews as needed, to assure the highest quality and cost effectiveness is achieved from the suppliers.
  • Train new Field Quality Engineers to ensure they meet the requirements of the customers JQR and certify in six months or less.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesBasic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in a technical discipline (i.e., engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance) with 5 years of experience in aerospace, automotive and/or other related industries.
  • In lieu of a formal education, at least 13 years of progressive experience in aerospace, automotive and/or other related industries

Preferred QualificationsExperience in creating & reviewing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102

  • Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Quality engineering experience
  • Experience with layout and precision inspection techniques
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
  • In-depth knowledge & usage of Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) tools
  • Working knowledge of ISO9000 or equivalent Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Experience performing audits
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starting, self-directed individual
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical products & processes
  • Technical knowledge of castings (Depends on location)
  • Technical knowledge of Circuit-Card Assemblies (Depends on location)
  • Proficient using common software (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, etc.)
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
