Job description: psd has an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on finance director to run the financial management of a high-tech business in Surrey.Our client is a high-technology business, well established and progressing well. They are seeking a new Finance Director who will marry strategic finance with commercial direction to drive, guide and support the company to deliver its budget and optimise its financial position. There are some immediate items that need attention which are enhancing the finance team, getting the journals sorted out, bringing purpose to cash management and being a hands-on finance professional.The main responsibilities will be:Financial Management
- Strategic finance and a continuous eye on the sales pattern.
- Financial control, tax, accounting, and compliance, including audit.
- Strong cost management, aligned to procurement and supplier relationships.
- Financial modelling: budget, bids, business cases, ongoing delivery programmes and wider risk management.
Commercial management:
- Procurement & supplier management, including approval of all delivery programmes.
- Customer contracts.
- Bid management.
- Client billing.
The candidate:The role will best suit an ambitious and individual looking to put a major success on their CV in helping the business by guiding it through a financial and commercial minefield to ongoing profitability. They will work side-by-side with the Managing Director in developing hardened forecasting and budgeting whilst underpinning this with strong commercial stewardship that assures the Managing Director and board of exemplary risk management, and that processes and governance are in the best shape.The Requirements:
- Professional qualifications – ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
- Exceptional financial and commercial management in the technology (or related) sector.
- Strong budgeting/forecasting and business case modelling capability.
- Ability to apply their analytical insight to support fast and accurate decision making with robust and compelling justifications.
- Focus on risk management, assuming advanced modelling capability allied to a strong understanding of the market and assets.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills, with credibility and likeability
