Job Purpose:
To ensure that the Group’s statutory reporting is accurate and timely, involving a strong understanding of technical developments in financial reporting and effective liaison with external auditors.
To assist the Group Financial Controller in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Group finance function and ensure the integrity of the Group’s ledgers and associated systems.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist with the management the group and subsidiary statutory accounts production and audit processes ensuring that all statutory accounts are filed by the appropriate deadlines. Ownership of subsidiary statutory accounts timetable, manage team of 2-3 Financial Accountants/Assistant Financial Accountant including coaching team and review of all accounts prepared prior to tax and audit review.
- Liaise with external auditors, developing a strong working relationship and ensuring that interaction is as efficient as possible and timetables and deliverables are controlled, reviewed and communicated to internal and external parties.
- Assist in the Group quarterly reporting process, carrying out reviews and investigating variances as well as assisting with the preparation of the quarterly management accounts and lender reporting.
- Support the Group year-end audit process, assisting the Group Financial Controller and management accounting team with preparation of auditor deliverables and preparation and review of disclosures and schedules for the Group’s annual report
- Assist the Group Financial Controller with technical accounting matters for the Group, preparing accounting policies and papers where necessary.
- Undertake ad-hoc project work as required, working with external advisors where required.
General Accountabilities:
- Undertake additional relevant duties which fall under the general scope of the role, as directed by your Manager, raising any issues with capacity so they can be properly managed.
- At all times ensure that your understanding and skill level regarding the Company’s IT systems are up to date, as applicable to your role. Undertake IT training as required to ensure full and proper use of the available technology.

- Work within the Company’s policies and procedures, governance framework and standards, as detailed on the Company’s intranet.

- Use materials and resources effectively and efficiently to minimise waste and always consider the impact of potential actions alongside our Sustainability policies and goals before taking business decisions.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Degree qualification preferred.
- ACA or equivalent with proven moderate PQE.
- Statutory accounts preparation experience essential.
- Real estate background beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Proven experience coaching and managing teams.
- IT literate with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- CaseWare experience beneficial but not essential.
- Accounting software experience essential.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
