Working within our progressive Group Finance Function, the Finance Systems Accountant will ensure our existing systems are working within our agreed operational and financial frameworks, with the ultimate aim of the effective and efficient processing of financial and non-financial data. With a passion for extracting actionable intelligence from business data, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and drive to a highly rewarding role within a small but agile team in an exciting, growing global business.
Reporting to the Head of Group Finance Systems, the Finance Systems Accountant will support the governance of our operational data that drives our financial reporting, providing input into the continuous improvement of the associated processes to improve data accuracy and quality. You will be a key contact to the Finance Team, working closely to resolve issues and develop the existing systems and databases.
You will develop a deep knowledge of our operational and finance systems in order to provide understanding of how the operational inputs drive financial postings. You will use system data to identify issues and process inconsistencies, determine actions to rectify and will work with the end users to ensure they are implemented.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Part-Qualified Accountant with a passion for systems, business and data. You will have experience utilising a variety of different systems alongside excellent MS Excel, Power Query, Dataflows and MS Forms skills. Possessing high attention to detail is essential, but with the ability to think strategically in order to anticipate evolving needs and to adjust to changing circumstances and processes.

/ Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Group Finance systems with:
- Create and maintain Power Queries and dashboards from the sage Database and Tagetik databases
- Responsible for new account creation across the group
- Support training users in Tagetik and Sage and ensure training materials are well ‘documented and widely accessible.
- Responsible for administrating access rights and privileges (new starters, leavers etc.) on Sage and tagetik
- Responsible for maintaining work status controls and rolling periods, locking, and unlocking periods, etc in Sage and Tagetik
- Sage And tagetik operational support. To assist and support BR and deputise during periods of absence, holiday etc
- Develop and amend How2 guides and process guides where needed.
- Support the Group Finance and wider Finance teams Function
- Support the wider Finance teams, by maintaining legacy Power Query Reports, Microsoft flows etc
- Support the wider Finance teams, assisting during the reporting cycle e.g., month end, budget etc
- Where applicable to the finance function, work toward eliminating time and manual work by identifying repeatable, automated reporting solutions using Power BI and other analytical tools
- Analyse Finance Data and Systems to assess any process errors or areas of data concern.
- Ad hoc projects as may be required e.g., Interpath support
- Ensure the integrity of data from operational systems (corridor) into the Finance systems
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential
- Part Qualified Accountant
- Sound system experience includes utilising a variety of systems including MS Excel, Power query, Dataflows and MS Forms
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Keen eye for improvements and enhancements
- Willingness to further develop existing finance system skills in the areas listed above
- Well organised, with good attention to detail and high levels of intrinsic motivation that manifests itself in a ‘can do’ attitude and reliable and flexible approach
- Good problem solver with intellectual curiosity
- Good team player, hunger to learn and confident, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with all levels of management and other regional businesses
Advantageous
- Experience of systems including Sage, Tagetik, VBA, SQL and other visualisation tools
- Experience of Corridor aero is a definite plus
