Job description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Accountant on behalf of our client based in Scunthorpe. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and contribute significantly to financial operations in a global market context.Benefits

Responsibilities
- Managing bank postings and reconciliations to bank statements.
- Overseeing Cashflow forecast documents and delivering weekly and monthly forecasts.
- Producing monthly Intrastat and EC sales reports within specified timeframes.
- Providing European taxation information to agents and managing VAT preparation.
- Ensuring accurate accounting for prepayments, provisions, and accruals in the general ledger.
- Maintaining the company’s fixed asset register and providing management reporting on any CAPEX items.
- Generating monthly stock reports and conducting analysis on slow-moving stock.
- Performing standard costings accurately and resolving any issues arising from the process.
- Analysing the trial balance to verify correct General Ledger postings and reconciling balance sheet General Ledger accounts.
- Assisting with management accounts submissions to local and group management.
- Analysing actual expenditure against budget or forecasted levels and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Supporting the yearly statutory audit process and assisting with preparation of corporation tax returns.
- Assisting with forecasts and budgets and providing support to the finance team as required.
- Ensuring all finance procedures are documented and periodically reviewed.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- ACCA / CIMA Part qualified or Qualified.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in financial accounting.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in core systems and the Microsoft Office suite, Excel proficiency is paramount.
- Experience with international VAT.
- Ability to work in GBP and EURO’s
- Familiarity with standard costing and associated reporting.
