Reporting Line: (UK Division) LME Finance

Location: UK-London

Worker Type: Permanent

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Line management

  • Direct line management responsibility for two financial accountants

Financial Accounting

  • Responsible for all aspects of LME Group financial accounting, incorporating LME and LME Clear entities and the consolidated position
  • Review of journal postings and the ledger closing at each month end
  • Review monthly balance sheet accounts and income statement reconciliations ensuring financial controls are robust, highlighting issues in a timely manner
  • Review quarterly statutory reporting packs and supporting schedules for the parent company in Hong Kong
  • Preparation and review of the annual financial statements and co-ordination of sharing of information with the company’s external auditors
  • Responsible for ensuring all reporting is in compliance with IFRS accounting standards, and assessing impact of future accounting developments
  • Preparation of Board papers including the financial statement fraud risk assessment and going concern assessment
  • Oversee the preparation and review of other external reports including reports to Regulators and the Office of National Statistics
  • Supporting the regulatory capital requirement calculations and reporting including the preparation of stress testing models and balance sheet forecasts
  • Collaborate with and advise other finance department teams on financial accounting for transactions
  • Meet or exceed tight reporting deadlines
  • Seek opportunities to enhance, innovate and improve existing processes and controls
  • Other ad hoc tasks and support as required

FP&A

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Provide support in respect of the annual budget process and monthly forecasting

Other

  • Deputising for the Head of Financial Accounting as required
  • Other ad hoc tasks and support
