Job description: Marks Sattin are working in partnership with a well known, industry leading organisation in Warwick to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager on a permanent basis. The position is a hybrid working role, with 2 days expected within their corporate offices.

The Financial Accounting Manager will report to the Head of Finance and will be a technically strong accountant, ensuring statutory reporting requirements are delivered for the group of companies. The Finance Accounting Manager will also ensure robust controls are maintained and will support the Head of Finance with improvements to financial reporting process where necessary.

The Financial Accounting Manager will lead and motivate a team of 4 and will ensure the smooth running of the function and will provide great mentorship to junior members within the team.

The Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to a team of 4 Accounts Assistants and ensuring motivation and morale levels are kept high
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, with the provision of year-end packs
  • Being the main pont of contact with the auditors and assisting with queries
  • Maintaining robust internal controls that adhere to legal and corporate policies
  • Weekly cashflow management; i.e. assisting with cash management and working capital
  • Ensuring tax returns are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Capex tracking and forecasting
  • Maintaing the fixed asset register
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations
  • Providing timely and useful insight and analysis to aid key decision making
  • Management and improvement of finance processes
  • Liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organisation and providing support on technical accounting matters
  • Identifying areas for process improvements in reporting and other related project work

To be considered you will:

  • Be a qualified Accountant – ACA / ACCA
  • Be a technical accountant with up to date knowledge of statutory reporting requirements
  • Have great interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Have some team supervision experience (desirable)
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Be proactive, placing an emphasis on delivering high standards of work in a timely manner
