Job description: This rapidly growing and ambitious Education organisation are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. Managing a small you will be the key driver in the day-to-day running and oversight of the team, driving through improvements to the current process and acting as a point of escalation if needed. The key duties of this Financial Controller are as follows:

  • To manage the finance team below you, ensuring all work is accurate, completed on time and training and coaching if offered and detailed regularly to keep the forward momentum of the team and allow career growth.
  • Prepare and produce the financial statements, statutory and regulatory returns, balance sheet reconciliations, putting together the consolidated accounts and presenting cash flow reports to directors/key stakeholders.
  • Take the lead in the review and provision of robust financial controls, ensuring there are no gaps, and all processes comply with the relevant financial standards. Leading on year end audit process from start to finish and be the main point of contact for the auditors.
  • Look at improving and streamlining the current financial system (Access Financials). Helping with automation and efficiencies between the users and the system.

Please note that this role will based in Central London where you are only required to be in the office once a week.

The successful Financial Controller candidate will have:

  • Experience or the desire to manage a small team which are responsible for consolidating and reporting for the organisation.
  • The ability to relay complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have an education background would be preferential.
  • An involvement or key part in the implementation of a financial system where you have helped streamline an existing system.
