Financial Controller required for Surrey Pre-Prep and Prep boarding school

Preparation of statutory annual accounts up to Trial Balance, including accruals, pre-payments and depreciationLiaising with auditors to plan and carry out the annual audit

Produce Termly Management Accounts

Attend termly Committee meetings

Manage Control Accounts and carry profit/ loss to P&LAnalyse P&L and CAPEX variance against budget

Regularly review and manage capital spending analysis codes

Compile debtors report

Provide relevant data for KPI reporting

Monitor key metrics and compare against competitors

Assist in Budget preparation and month to month monitoring

Compile relevant information to assist with annual fee and salary increase discussionsMaintain accurate financial data in the school’s finance software – iFinance

Monitor School’s investments to ensure optimum returns

Provide financial support to Teaching Staff organising Trips, process currency transactions for overseas trips

Manage business cash flow

Carry out monthly bank and control accounts reconciliations including fee and purchase ledgers

Manage all business cash including petty cash

Check and approve credit or charge card transactions and process credit card journals

Process and Administer Early Years Free Entitlement claims

Any other finance-related duties as reasonably required by the Bursar

Oversee the Purchase Ledger function, either in-house or outsourced

Ensure payments are timely and accurate

Review bulk payments and authorise payment batches

Conduct regular reviews of invoice payment processes to ensure efficiency

Financial Controller required for Surrey Pre-Prep and Prep boarding school|CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant

Several years’ financial experience either as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Bursar

Previous experience in drafting statutory and management accounts to strict deadlines including knowledge of accounting regulations and requirements

Previous experience in preparation of annual budgets

Previous leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity

Experience of working in a school environment

Experience working with iFinance (iSAMS)

Thriving, co-educational day and weekly/flexiboarding Pre-Prep and Prep school located in Surrey is looking to recruit a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.
