Job description: Financial Planning & Analysis ManagerFull Time, PermanentMilton Keynes – HybridSalary from £46,237Closing Date: 17th April 2024The purpose of this role is to deliver the following services to the VWFS UK Group companies: financial forecasting and planning; internal and shareholder reporting; cost centre control and budgeting. The role holder is responsible for identifying and implementing best practice financial planning, performance analysis and accompanying commentary, whilst having a focus on being a data champion in controlling and developing processes that are efficient using BI tools to ensure high quality output and time spent on value addIt is important to note that the scale of specific responsibilities are controlled by the rules set out by VWFS AG’s International Organisational Handbook I-OHB rules and regulations which are monitored and governed by the Parent Company of VWFS AGYour responsibilities will include:Reporting

  • Production of internal and shareholder reporting in accordance with the financial services oriented controlling concept with a focus on continuously improving output through automation and efficiency whilst maintaining high quality accuracy and meeting of statutory deadlines
  • Focus on being a champion of Data quality through maintaining data dictionaries and understanding lineage of data to all measures in reporting to ensure standardisation across the department’s teams.
  • SME for all controlling topics related to Data & reporting with a view to providing clarity and confidence to stakeholders both UK and international on any issues arising
  • Support other member of controlling on development of financial models such as income Earning Assets (EA) models or overhead forecasting models in order to ensure consistency and sound platform to forecast from

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Analysis and commentary on all reporting & KPIs with a view to understanding what the impact is to the business across income & overheads with variances clearly explained and understanding the “so what” element to drive business performance
  • Build, develop & maintain high quality forecasting models using local data in order to support the planning round and quarterly forecasting process using BI tools to automate the process where possible
  • SME for designated matrix controlling topics related to the Income Statement, Balance Sheet , Overheads & Cost of Money utilising this approach in the planning round and forecasting processes with in depth understanding of the matrix area
  • Review and Challenge Cost centre managers robustly on a monthly basis to drive efficiency in spend and ensuring value for money and accountability through the benefits realisation process.

Other

  • Ad hoc analysis as directed by the General Manager – Central controlling or other senior managers in order to steer the business
  • Ensure procedures are maintained and uploaded to Netconsent by the deadlines required including any other compliance topics such as RoPAs or ARIS Maps

Skills and experience required:

  • Automotive finance or relevant cross experience with high level of data literacy in building and maintaining financial models
  • Qualified Accountant or relevant QBE experience
  • Business Partnering Experience in a large corporate environment with experience of managing senior stakeholders
  • Planning and forecasting experience in line with International Accounting Standards and the Financial Services oriented Controlling Concept is essential.
  • Educated to degree level, or holds a professional qualification and proactively focuses on continual professional development.
  • The ability to communicate complex issues with integrity at all levels up to, and including, Board level
  • Excellent numeric and problem solving skills
  • Self-starter and able to quickly understand next steps to drive forward the role and resolution of queries
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness with an ability to deliver management and financial accounts and to develop strategic initiatives
  • Strong MS Office / SAP / SAP BW / Tableau Skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands
  • Proven ability to provide accurate data in a fast paced environment
  • An appreciation of stakeholder requirements in particular Brands and Retailers
  • Proven experience and ability to negotiate and influence decision making
  • Process orientated and methodical approach to managing simultaneous work streams
  • Ability to and experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and engaging mind, having a record of analysing complex and unrelated issues, and making appropriate and successful recommendations in response
  • Commercial acumen and awareness
