Job description: Manpower Recruitment are Recruiting for a Full Time, Permanent Food and Beverage Supervisor for an established College in Oxford City Centre.The role is working 40 hrs per week and working 5/7 days, including weekends, mornings and evening shifts on rotation.The role is paying £28,085pa.Overall ObjectiveTo assist the Front of House Manager in the organisation and supervision of catering services, providing the highest levels of service in the Dining Hall, Senior Common Room, Bar and Cafés throughout the College both in term time and vacations.Key ResponsibilitiesHallSupervise each meal period to meet agreed standards of service while maintaining all hygiene standardsMake suggestions to develop service standards to meet the changing needs of the College and its customersOrganise and direct each meal period so that staff are assigned according to the needs of the level of serviceMonitor the appearance of staff, ensure they are correctly uniformed and meet approved standards of appearanceCheck stocks of china, cutlery etc as directed to ensure service level requirementsLay tables, plan table assignments, prepare and set up for meal serviceAt the end of each meal period ensure wash up is clear and all service areas are clean and tidySenior Common RoomAssist with the service of SCR lunch and dinner in the SCR and at High Table both in and out of termAssist with events including refreshment breaks, drinks receptions and al fresco dining throughout the college and its environsClean and polish silver, glass and specialist service itemsReceive deliveries checking for accuracy and quality and ensuring correct storageDespatch and record wine issues to Hall and Bar as requiredSelect and prepare SCR wines in advance of serviceImplement the cleaning programme for both SCR and Arco food and beverage service areas and equipmentBarOpen and close bar at agreed timesCheck fridges and back bar and bottle up as required before the bar opensCash up tillsPrepare daily takings reconciliation as directed by the StewardPrepare staff rotas with the StewardEnsure bar staff report for duty on time and complete signing-in sheetSupervise casual bar staff throughout the shiftPerform weekly pipe cleaningMaintain good stock control practiceMaintain good order in cellar and stock roomEnsure area behind bar is clean and prepared for service and left clean and tidy at the end of each shiftDevelop and adhere to cleaning schedulesReceive deliveries as necessaryCaféEnsure Café is open on time and fully stockedOrganise Café lunch & tea breaksEnsure Café is closed down and properly cleanedOrder Café stock as required, in the absence of the Food & Beverage ManagerIf interested please get in contact with a Manpower Representative.
