Key Responsibilities:
PEOPLE:
- Oversee operational activity, performance, and development of Food and Beverage departments, embodying the playful elegance that defines Sofitel London St James.
- Actively contribute as a key member of the hotel leadership team, attending scheduled meetings with a professional approach.
- Conduct interviews, selection, training, and performance appraisals for key roles, ensuring a harmonious fit within Sofitel St James ethos.
- Foster communication through weekly meetings, daily briefings, and collaboration with non-Food and Beverage departments, promoting a relaxed yet efficient atmosphere.
GUEST EXPERIENCE:
- The Food and Beverage Manager is a champion of guest service and the guest experience, at all times examining and questioning any processes to ensure they align to deliver an exceptional and memorable experience for all.
- Promote communication and connectivity within the Food and Beverage team and across departments, creating a playful and cohesive work environment.
- Be a highly visible manager, embodying the open-door policy with an approachable demeanour.
- Implement guidelines, SOP’s, policies and procedures for all Food and Beverage outlets in conjunction with the Heads of Departments.
- Uphold Sofitel Values, brand standards, and grooming guidelines, reflecting the playful elegance in appearance and service.
- Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and quality appearance of all Food and Beverage outlets, facilities, and equipment, adhering to Sofitel’s standards of luxury.
- The pursuit of an excellent guest service goes without saying, achieving and contributing towards the hotel’s RPS, LQA and Forbes is paramount and the implementation of training, follow up, processes and priority resolution to achieving this is an overarching goal.
FINANCIAL RETURNS:
- Review and approve weekly schedules, ensuring the operational manning is in line with budgeted payroll, and the guest experience execution – providing feedback to Heads of Department when this is not the case, and working with them to ensure departments are working together to achieve operational efficiencies.
- Lead by example with a presence during key periods, ensuring management coverage aligns with operational needs.
- To achieve or exceed revenue and profit targets for all Food and Beverage operations under your remit, adjusting strategy when and as needed to ensure this, working with Sales and Marketing to drive promotions if required, reviewing operational manning and expenditure to ensure that this achieved.
- Participate in the preparation of annual Food and Beverage operating budgets and financial plans with a creative and strategic mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel setting, preferable in a Michelin starred environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a touch of playfulness.
- Commercial acumen with a focus on revenue growth and profitability, understanding the playful and elegant essence of Sofitel London St James.
- Ability to drive change, collaborate with diverse teams and live up to the unique standards of every Sofitel London St James guest.
