ROLE OVERVIEW

Planet Organic is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Food Buying Administrator to join our team in London. The role primarily involves providing administrative support to the Buying team, ensuring efficient procurement processes, maintaining accurate records, and fostering effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Buying team in managing the administrative aspects of the procurement process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier agreements, contracts, and product specifications.
  • Liaise with suppliers to arrange new product listings, promotional activity and joint business plans.
  • Support in organising meetings, presentations, and product evaluations with suppliers, recording meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Assist in the analysis of market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities, providing valuable insights to the Buying team.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to product recalls, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports, documents, and databases related to purchasing activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient procurement processes and systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Passion for organic, natural, and sustainable food and drink products.
