Job description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food-Tech Teacher to join our team at a school in Walsall. As a Food-Tech Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs in the field of food technology.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive food technology lessons to students with various special educational needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning experiences for students with special needs.
- Foster a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes social skills development and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behavior.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the students’ care.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialization or experience in food technology or a related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, particularly in the context of food technology education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
