Gardener (105524-0324) at University of Warwick

March 26, 2024

Job Description

About the Role

If you have any questions, please email the Estates team at est_facilities_admin@warwick.ac.uk.

In this role, you will carry out a wide range of horticultural duties, including planting trees, shrubs, natural grassland and bedding schemes. You will also maintain areas by mowing, pruning, digging and strimming.

Both areas of work require the use of specialised machinery as well as accurate record keeping to ensure all machinery is safe to use and in good repair.

Beyond maintenance, we’ll ask you to come up with your own ideas as to how we can improve and develop our gardens as part of our wider strategy.

About You

You will have a wide knowledge of gardening with experience working in a residential, commercial, or public garden. You will be truly passionate about horticulture with the ability to understand landscape designs and bedding schemes.

You’ll be competent in the use of power tools and mowers and will have a good awareness of relevant health and safety issues. We often work to short deadlines, so teamwork, good organisation and strong communication skills will be essential to your success.

For further information regarding the skills required for this role please see the personal specification section of the attached job description.
