Job description: Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are searching for experienced PCV Bus Drivers to join a well-respected and successful client at Gatwick Airport.
What’s on offer:
- Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour

Key points:
- Must hold full PCV license and CPC
- Will be required to perform other duties including cleaning – it is on the JD
- Will need to pass a driving assessment
- Will need to hold a blue pass
Working Hours & Shift Patten:
Working part of full time on a rotating shift pattern, that will vary with needs of the business. Shifts will be covering a 24 hour period, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operation. Working weekends, bank holidays and holiday periods will be a requirement as required
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Principally to deliver the safe, efficient and effective bus transportation of airport & airline passengers (ground staff, crew members and other client groups) between designated transfer points.
- The job is perfomed in buses, minibuses or cars. There will also be the need to perform other driving duties as required to include but not limited to Bowsers,high lifts, deicing vehicles. Full training will be provided for all vehicles.
- Operating mainly airside, but with the willingness to work in any areas the business deems necersary, to include cabin cleaning duties if required.
- This job offers regular daily routine,with some variations on occasion.
- Our colleagues need to be professional, polite and smart at all times. Our passengers are a mix of business professionals, holiday makers and airline crews. It is essential that they have a positive experience on every journey.
- Embracing technical innovations, we are building ways of automation to help track, report and inform our performance.
- There will be a requirement for our drivers to use an automated job allocation and recording system. Full training will be provided.
Shifts:
The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 4 on 4 off rolling rota. This could be subject to change!

- Day 1: 04:00 to 10:00
- Day 2: 04:00 to 10:00
- Day 3: 04:00 to 10:00

Requirements:
- Must hold a valid PCV licence (D, D1) with no more than three points endorsed, maintaining regular reports for inspection. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of both written and spoken English.
- Must be able to pass and maintain an Airside Pass and airsdie driving Driving Permit, including competency checks where necessary. This will require a full 5 year work history,the right to work in the UK and a DBS check.
- Excellent people and communication skills with the ability to deal with people effectively and with ease.
- A positive pro-active “can do” attitude.
- Flexibility to work in alternate locations, this may be short notice.
- Flexibility to work in different departments within ABM, such as cabin cleaning.
- Flexibility to work additional shifts for adhoc demand and duty cover will be required, local catchment area would be advantageous.
