General Catering Assistant

Full Time – 35 hours per week

42 Weeks (Term Time) or 52 Weeks (Full Time)

Salary: Grade 1 BAR

£19,203 – £19,676

*Please note salaries are subject to National Pay Award & Real Living Wage

Based within the College’s Faculty of Leisure & Lifestyle, the successful candidate will assist the Senior Catering Assistant in the provision of a quality support service for College staff, students and visitors within all kitchens, bakeries, restaurants, linen and ancillary areas. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness within all areas relevant to the department.

To apply for this position, you must have an elementary food hygiene certificate. You will ensure that a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained at all times, in accordance with current legislation and College protocols and procedures.

You will have good interpersonal skills, a flexible approach to your duties with the ability to work well as part of a team.

Additionally, you will be expected to comply with all health and safety legislation and safe systems of work, at all times. Experience of lifting and handling/manual handling techniques is also essential.
