Job description: At WTW, we are undertaking significant investment in our global IT services (moving to an Azure cloud environment) and cyber security team (with additional personnel and changes to toolkit). We have an opportunity to be our Global Head of Cyber Security Platforms Operations, leading a broad function and supporting the transformation of our cyber security technologies.

As part of the Cyber Defence and Security Operations team, you will provide oversight and direction to teams that manage a variety of cyber security technologies such as SIEM, threat management and end point detection, Network edge protection, including firewalls and web proxy, Email web gateway security and data loss security. You will need to have a good technical aptitude, a calm approach under pressure, excellent communicative skills to technical and non-technical audiences, and have a genuine passion for security.

This opportunity is aligned to our Hybrid workstyle, predominantly based from home with occasional travel to WTW offices.

The Role

  • Work closely with the Director of Cyber Defence and Chief Information Security Officer in defining and implementing overall strategies of Cyber Security Platforms Operations.
  • Manage performance and development. Make sure all direct reports and their direct reports have performance objectives and career development plans.
  • Ensure services have the following outcomes:
  • Security systems are available, secure, maintained and support business strategy.
  • Engineering expertise to support key business projects.
  • Continuous improvement of systems to enhance the security eco-system; meet client and regulatory needs; and provide automation efficiencies.
  • Ensure delivery of quality service and achieve goals by leveraging Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Metrics.
  • Act as owner for relevant security controls, attending sessions and conduct walk-throughs in response to audit queries.
  • Review efficient use of technology and toolsets. Regularly assess efficacy (cost, coverage, etc) of used toolsets and recommend them for renewal or transformation.
  • Support relevant technology POC or testing.
  • Increase coverage of security controls and onboard business systems to provide protection, detection, and monitoring services.
  • Support Incident Response teams in feeding technology with Indicators of Compromise.
  • Continuously enhance the email gateway for incoming and outgoing email to reduce the threat of phishing and malware.
  • Participate in projects requiring inputs from Cyber Security Platforms Operations Team.

The Requirements

  • Have experience managing a team and had an impact in their career maturity.
  • You will be working as part of the Information and Cyber Security team across different locations and therefore you must be a true team player, with the ability and desire to engage with colleagues and clients, on some occasions, to deliver the highest standards of service and support.
  • Substantial experience working as part of a cyber defence centre, information and cyber security or security operations centre and handled a variety of security job domains.
  • To be effective, you need to have great troubleshooting skills, the ability to research problems and the ability to effectively communicate during stressful times, while keeping a cool, calm, and friendly approach when dealing with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, the ability to write reports in a structured way and comfortable talking to stakeholders and colleagues on both a technical and non-technical level.
  • To be inquisitive, with a strong sense of personal responsibility for learning and self-development.
  • Being able to analyse trends and utilize them in creating plans and making decisions.
  • Have exposure to a variety of compliance and regulatory requirements and audits.

  • Any relevant experience in project management.
