In recent years we have received many prestigious awards, such as Best Places to Work and Vitality – Britain’s Healthiest Workplace for the 2nd year running.The positionAs Novo Nordisk increasingly focuses on management of CVD as a key therapeutic priority, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit an External Relations and Public Affairs Manager in the UK. This strategically important role will play a key part in providing organisational capability and enabling market preparedness. The role will support the business to better understand the CVD policy landscape and will be responsible for developing and implementing high impact public affairs initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes. The role will build relationships with key external stakeholders and seek opportunities to further Novo Nordisk’s strategy and ambitions to become a leading company in CVD.The role will also build on and protect Novo Nordisk’s reputation as a leading life sciences company, with a 100-year heritage in tackling chronic diseases, and as a good corporate partner in line with the Novo Nordisk Way and Triple Bottom Line.Your key accountabilities include:

  • Develop tailored public affairs strategies and plans for England and the Devolved Nations related to CVD
  • Build relationships with key external stakeholders, including Patient & Professional Associations, Key Opinion Leaders, NHS England, Public Health England, national policy organizations, All-Party Parliamentary Groups, Government, Parliament, industry associations, and health-related think tanks
  • Work cross functionally as an expert business partner to brand teams, along with market access, medical and other internal stakeholders as appropriate to support Novo Nordisk’s objectives relating to CVDs and support our overall corporate affairs objectives
  • Ensure the organization has well considered positions relating to CVD, including mobilizing engagement on key issues, and driving effective policy debate.
  • Represent and drive Novo Nordisk’s agenda at relevant industry association meetings and key working groups.

QualificationsTo be our new External Affairs and Public Affairs Manager, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Degree in public relations, politics, public administration, social policy, or life sciences
  • Solid working history in public affairs, government relations, or investor relations. Ability to develop and implement public affairs strategies and plans.
  • Strong understanding of the policy landscape in the UK. Experience of working in the area of cardiovascular disease is essential.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Proven track record in influencing beliefs and perceptions of external audiences
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and regulatory environment
