Job description: Part of the European Finance Team headed by Furrukh Shiekh (Group Finance Director). The role is part of Retail Solutions Finance team, the role will be predominantly working for the Modix Business unit, but will also support other BU’s within Retail Solutions (Codeweavers/RMS/eVA/Manheim Express).Scope of Role:Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Modix, you will be working within a small team, providing financial, analytical, and commercial support & reporting to the Finance and Retail leadership teams including:
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Maintain and operate financial models.
- Build on existing Management reporting packs – regularly reviewing and implementing improvements to align to changing business needs.
- Prepare regular and adhoc analysis to provide insight and support decision making – Including Customer and Product profitability.
- Contribute to the monthly forecasting process (EBITDA level reporting)
- Contribute to the annual business planning cycle (budgets).
- Accounting:
- Accurate and timely recognition of costs including supporting monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Accurate and timely recharging of costs to various business unit P&Ls across Europe.
- Contributing to monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliation processes.
The role is ideal for a graduate or analyst and will increase in scope, responsibility, and exposure to senior management over time.Objectives for Role:
- Preparation of monthly management reporting for Europe, including analysis & KPIs, ensuring results are reported accurately.
- Review and reconcile general ledger entries to report detailed revenue and cost information on a monthly basis.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly rolling forecasts for revenue & costs across all business areas
- Preparation of key monthly reporting outputs in a timely and accurate manner
- Product & customer profitability analysis across multiple markets within Europe & the rest of the world
- Calculate quarterly commission payments for the sales team providing a succinct summary for management sign off.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting for the Europe leadership & finance teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- University graduate with proven high level of academic achievement (BA or equivalent)
- Good financial acumen (commitment to studying for an appropriate professional qualification) e.g. ACCA, ACA, and CIMA
- Highly numerate with the ability to analyse data, spot trends and draw conclusions.
- Advanced Excel skills and some familiarity with PowerPoint
- Strong written communication skills with ability to write about complex problems in a logical and concise way.
- Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with others as part of a team.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines (including some flexibility on working hours).
