Job description: Manpower Belfast, are working in partnership with a government body to provide Gritter Drivers for the winter service in the Magherafelt area. These roles will commence in October and end mid April.

Successful candidates must be available to work on an “On Call” basis, working on a three week rotational shift pattern basis.
Week One: Covering the AM Shift midnight to midday
Week Two: Covering the PM Shift midday to midnight
Week Three: Rest week where you will not be on call.

Pay Rates:
AM Shift: £19.54
PM Shift: £16.11
Bank Holiday and Saturday £20.19
Sunday £22.23
Standby Allowance £81.86. This is paid on the weeks you are covering standby, regardless if you are called on to complete a grit.

Main Duties:
Working on an “on call” basis to grit the roads when ice and snow is expected
Adhering to driving regulations
Cleaning down your vehicle at the end of each shift
Following a route plan to ensure your designated area is fully gritted
Completion of paperwork

*Each grit usually lasts 3-4 hours”
*These roles are not suitable for people that work full time jobs as you will not be available to work if there are day time grits*
*Full training, and route training provided*

Essential Criteria: Class C Licence, CPC Card

Expected salary: £16.11 – 22.23 per hour
