HE Lecturer Construction at DN Colleges Group

Job Description

Are you an established professional in the construction or architectural field contemplating a career change? Whether you’re looking to support your retirement, seek a new challenge, or tired of outdoor work in challenging conditions, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Are you interested in passing on your extensive knowledge and skills to the next generation of construction professionals?

If you’re concerned about not having the ‘right’ qualifications, worry not—we can assist you! Did you know that you could embark on a career as a lecturer while receiving support for your teaching qualifications, including potential financial assistance? Moreover, we recognize the tremendous value of your hands-on learning and industry experiences in an educational setting.

Transitioning from industry to education doesn’t have to be daunting. Our “LET’s Teach” and “Trade to Teach” programs, coupled with reduced timetables and mentorship, make the shift seamless and well-supported. Many of our outstanding construction teaching staff have successfully made this transition, bringing their wealth of experience and skills to inspire students at our Centre of Construction Excellence and Institute of Technology. Why not join them?

If you have a relevant background in construction, be it in architecture, CAD, BIM, civil engineering, or general construction, and you’re seeking a new challenge in our state-of-the-art facilities, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out for an informal discussion about the vacancy or to explore how you can redirect your career toward the education sector. Contact Karra Adam, Deputy Head of School for HE Engineering & Construction, at karra.adam@northlindsey.ac.uk.

Please note that teaching responsibilities for this position include modules within Construction, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, and Building Services programs at levels 4 and 5. Preliminary modular details can be found on our website. Join us in sharing your knowledge and benefit from our exceptional holiday and pension package!

We have two positions available, one full time role (36.5 hours per week) and one part time position ( 29 hours per week)

As part of the recruitment process, and in line with our commitment to ensuring the safety of children in education, social media checks will be conducted on shortlisted candidates.
