Job description: Avery Healthcare Group is a highly acquisitive, fast growing provider of luxury residential, dementia and nursing care homes across the UK and are proud to offer the opportunity for you to join our award-winning team as Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting.ABOUT THE ROLEThis role focuses on the reporting and forecasting of Group performance as well as monitoring and delivering net cashflow targets. The role leads the reporting and transactional finance teams and works closely with the Commercial Finance teams.As part of this role, you will ensure that the finance function has appropriate controls and processes in place to protect the assets of the business and that information and analysis provided to the business is accurate and timely.Other Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the multiple reporting processes required by our stakeholders, ensure data submitted is accurate and delivered within the stated deadlines.
  • Oversee the production of the budget, compare home level budgets provided by the Commercial Finance team with high level expectations of overall Group performance.
  • Forecast and monitor the overall cash and working capital position for the Group, advise the Finance Director on potential risks to delivering the cash targets.
  • Oversee the systems and processes around the operational aspects of the Avery finance function, including banking and supplier and resident management.
  • Review policies and procedures to ensure robust financials controls are in place. Review compliance against these controls, identify and make necessary adjustments for potential weaknesses.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements. This includes taking responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the statutory financial statements and liaising with the external auditors.
  • Ensure SOX control documentation is reviewed and maintained by the team and is readily available to provide Welltower’s internal audit team on request.
  • Support the Finance Director by monitoring potential risks to the business and put in place mitigating actions.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to support the integration of new and acquired homes onto Avery systems.

  • Experience in a similarly senior role in a large multi-site business.
  • Ability to deliver to multiple strict deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience managing and developing a large team.
  • Exceptional financial modelling skills.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant.
