Job Description

University College Birmingham is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to head up our Construction Trades Department in the FE College. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a dynamic curriculum area that supports progression and plays a key role in addressing regional and national skills needs.

As Head of Construction Trades, you will be responsible for leading curriculum development, managing departmental performance, and ensuring an outstanding student experience.

Working closely with staff, students, and industry partners, you’ll help embed high-quality teaching and learning, strong employer engagement, and a culture of innovation.

We’re looking for someone with leadership experience in FE and a strong background in the construction sector, who can bring strategic insight, operational strength, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
