We’re looking for someone to supercharge The Times’ marketing communications strategy. An experienced and creative leader, you will be responsible for shaping and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive visibility and consideration, audience development, subscription growth, engagement and retention. You will lead a team of brand and campaign strategists and work collaboratively with the customer team to create innovative campaigns that align with The Times’s values and objectives.Day to day you will:● Have overall ownership of The Times external communications strategy; devising and delivering campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels that drive brand, reputational and commercial growth.● Manage the communications schedule for the Customer team, working closely with external and internal agencies to deliver creative excellence.● Develop and execute the communication materials for multi-channel marketing strategies anchored in digital to enhance presence, increase readership and drive subscription growth.● Lead and inspire a high-performing marketing communications team, providing guidance and fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and excellence.● Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing objectives with overall business goals.● Direct market research and analysis to identify trends, audience insights, and competitor strategies to inform marketing plans.● Work closely with the performance marketing team to devise media buying strategies aligned to performance goals.● Work with the wider Customer team to develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring adherence to brand standards and consistency in all communications and visual elements.● Set clear goals and KPIs for the team, regularly reviewing performance and optimising strategies for maximum effectiveness.● Collaborate closely with editorial, commercial and product teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of marketing efforts.What we’re looking for from you:● Progressive experience in marketing, with a focus on communications, ideally within the media/publishing industry.● Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading successful marketing campaigns and managing a high-performing team.● Excellent understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, analytics tools, and emerging trends in the media landscape.● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.● Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.● Ability to use data and insight to inform solutions.We are News UK: One of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland.
