Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. London Film School, now approaching its 70th anniversary, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London.

LFS alumni include some legendary lighting camera people (Roger Pratt, Tak Fujimoto) as well as celebrated directors (Mike Leigh), and actors (Danny Huston), and many producers and executives across the industry. We are one of only two film schools in the UK to have received ‘world leading’ institution status and funding from the Office for Students.

As Head of New Business & Training, you will contribute to the strategic vision of the School, by leading and overseeing the development of professional training programs, while driving new business opportunities. The role ensures LFS remains a leader in industry-relevant education, by designing innovative courses, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding commercial training offerings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with expertise in film education, business development, and stakeholder engagement within the creative industries. You will have a Bachelor’s for Master’s degree in Film, Media, Business, Education, or a related field, or have an equivalent level of related work experience, together with the communication and interpersonal skills to lead, motivate and develop your team, who are responsible for training operations and business partnerships. Experience in financial planning and setting/managing departmental budgets is also essential.

To apply, please email your CV, together with a supporting statement outlining how your skills, knowledge and experience meet the requirements of the role, plus the completed equalities monitoring form, to recruitment@lfs.org.uk (via the ‘Apply’ button above). Closing date is 9am on 20 June 2025

We offer a highly competitive staff benefits package including 30 days leave per annum (pro rata for part-time staff), employer matched contributory pension scheme (4%), season ticket and hardship loan schemes, a cycle to work scheme, an Employee Assistance Programme and a suite of family-friendly policies.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you. We offer a guaranteed interview to applicants with a disability, who meet the essential criteria for the role.

Applicants must be able to provide proof of their ongoing right to live and work in the UK. It is a condition of any offer of work for the School, which we may make to you, that you have, or gain, permission to work in the UK. By law, you will not be able to start working for us until you are able to provide evidence that this permission has been granted.

LFS is an equal opportunities employer.  Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we especially encourage applications from people who identify as disabled and/or identify as LGBTQIA, black, Asian or are from minority ethnic backgrounds as these groups are under-represented at all levels of staff at LFS.
